Skincare
Three of our most popular skin rejuvenation treatments, compared honestly — including which skin concerns each one is actually built to solve.
Skin rejuvenation isn’t one single treatment — it’s a category, and choosing the right option depends entirely on what your skin actually needs. Here’s an honest, side-by-side comparison of our three most popular rejuvenation treatments.
Quick Facts
Laser Skin Resurfacing: Uses laser energy to resurface the skin's top layer and stimulate deeper collagen production. Best for texture, fine lines, and sun damage.
HydraFacial: A multi-step treatment combining cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration infusion. Best for instant glow with zero downtime.
Carbon Laser Peel: The 'Hollywood Peel' — a carbon layer absorbs into pores before laser passes over it, deep-cleaning pores and brightening skin. Best for oily/congested skin and pore refinement.
Downtime comparison: HydraFacial: zero downtime. Carbon Peel: zero downtime. Laser Resurfacing: 1–3 days of mild redness.
Best for event prep: HydraFacial — many clients book it 2–3 days before a wedding, event, or photoshoot for an instant, safe glow.
All safe for dark/olive skin tones: Yes, all three treatments are calibrated and safe for the full range of skin tones we see in Dearborn's diverse community.
Laser skin resurfacing uses controlled laser energy to gently resurface the outermost layer of skin while stimulating collagen production in the layers beneath. It's the most intensive of the three treatments in this comparison, which is also why it delivers some of the most noticeable improvements in texture, fine lines, and sun damage over a series of sessions. Expect 1–3 days of mild redness afterward, similar to a light sunburn.
Best for: Uneven texture, fine lines, sun damage, and clients who want more dramatic, longer-lasting rejuvenation and don't mind a few days of visible recovery.
HydraFacial is a multi-step treatment that cleanses, gently exfoliates, extracts congestion from pores, and infuses the skin with hydrating serums — all in one relaxing session with absolutely no downtime. It's the treatment we recommend most often for clients who want visible, immediate results before an event, or who simply want a monthly reset for skin health and glow.
Best for: Instant glow before an event, general skin maintenance, hydration, and clients who want zero downtime.
Also known as the "Hollywood Peel" (popularized by celebrities getting red-carpet-ready), carbon laser peel works by applying a thin layer of liquid carbon to the skin, which absorbs deep into pores. A laser is then passed over the area — the carbon absorbs the laser energy, exfoliating dead skin cells, reducing oil production, minimizing the appearance of pores, and leaving skin visibly brighter with zero downtime.
Best for: Oily or congested skin, enlarged pores, dullness, and mild acne — with the bonus of an immediate brightening effect.
At your free consultation, our estheticians will assess your specific skin concerns — texture, tone, congestion, fine lines, or a combination — and recommend the treatment (or combination of treatments) that will actually address them, rather than guessing. All three treatments are safe and calibrated for the full range of skin tones we treat, including the dark and olive complexions common in Dearborn's community.
