Microblading results are beautiful — but the healing process requires careful attention for the first 10–14 days. What you do (and don't do) in this window directly determines how your brows heal, retain color, and look long-term.
Day 1–2: Immediately After Treatment
- Brows will appear very dark and bold — this is normal. Color fades 30–40% during healing.
- Gently blot (do not rub) with a clean cotton pad if lymph fluid appears — this is a clear/yellowish fluid, not infection.
- Apply the provided healing ointment in a very thin layer — about once every 2–3 hours.
- Do not get brows wet today.
- Avoid touching with unwashed hands.
Days 3–5: Tightening and Flaking
- Brows may feel tight or itchy — this is the skin beginning to heal and is completely normal.
- Do not scratch or rub. This can pull pigment out of the skin.
- Fine flaking or peeling may begin. Do not pick or peel — let it shed naturally.
- Continue applying healing ointment in a thin layer as needed.
Days 6–10: Flaking and Color Change
- Brows will look significantly lighter — sometimes alarmingly so. This is normal and expected.
- Color may appear patchy or uneven as the skin regenerates over the pigment.
- Flaking continues — keep hands off.
- Once flaking is complete (around day 7–10), you can stop applying ointment.
Days 10–28: Color Return
Around day 10–14, the brows will begin to look lighter than you hoped. Don't panic — this is the "milky" phase where the pigment is settling under a fresh layer of skin. Over the next 2 weeks, color gradually resurfaces and the true healed result becomes visible. By day 28, you'll see your final healed result.
What to Absolutely Avoid During Healing
- No swimming pools, oceans, or soaking brows in water
- No sweating directly over brows (avoid intense exercise for 10 days)
- No makeup on or around the brows for 10 days
- No direct sun on the brows — wear a hat or use SPF after healing
- No skincare acids (AHAs, BHAs, retinoids) near the brow area during healing
- No facials, chemical peels, or laser treatments near the brows for 4 weeks
Your Touch-Up Appointment
A touch-up at 6–8 weeks is standard and included in most microblading packages. At this appointment, we assess how the pigment healed, fill in any areas that faded more than expected, and perfect the shape. Do not judge your microblading results before the touch-up — the final look is assessed after this appointment.
