How Laser Hair Removal Actually Works

Laser hair removal uses a concentrated beam of light that’s absorbed by melanin (pigment) inside the hair shaft. How Electrolysis Works

Electrolysis takes a completely different, more direct approach. A licensed technician inserts an ultra-fine probe into each individual hair follicle and delivers a small electrical current that destroys the follicle's growth cells at the root. Because electrolysis doesn't rely on pigment at all, it's the only method that works on every hair color and every skin tone — including hair laser can't treat.

The tradeoff is speed: because each hair is treated one at a time, electrolysis takes longer per session and typically requires more visits to clear a full area than laser does.
